The Times-News welcomes letters of 200 words or fewer. Letters may be edited for clarity and length, and newspaper cannot publish every letter submitted. Times-News management retains sole discretion in the selection of letters for publication. All letters must include the writer's name, mailing address and phone number, and email submissions are preferred. Writers are limited to 15 letters per year and two per month.

We will not knowingly publish factually incorrect information. A writer must supply a list of the sources on which his information is based as an addendum to the letter.
The Times-News also will not publish poetry, letters about the quality of service or goods of a business, and open letters or copies of letters mailed to other publications or people.
