Our Vision for Flat Rock is that it remains a small village of low commercialization no larger than it is today. We want Flat Rock to remain a village of beauty that citizens can take pride in for many years in the future. We want to be known for our friendliness and hospitality as well as our safe roads and walking trails. We want to be known as a village that supports its community of the arts, promotes age diversity - younger and older - and encourages stable real estate values.
A place for those interested in the future of Highland Lake and its surrounding communities in Flat Rock, North Carolina

I looked at the proposed rendering posted on this site earlier...looked like plans for 12 fields.
ReplyDelete12 fields.
20 kids per team.
2 teams per game, 40 kids per field.
40 kids per field, 12 fields, 480 kids.
480 kids, 1.25 parents/other per kid...
...600 parents/other + 480 kids = 1080 people.
2 people per car, 540 cars.
And that's just for the 10am game. Layer on the 12 noon game, and the 2pm game, and the 4pm game, and the 6pm game...
...and once they get lights the 8 pm game, and maybe the 10pm game?
This, is not, appropriate, for Flat Rock.
Chris - I believe the current plan is 9 fields: 3 full-size adult regulation and 6 junior fields -- and that's too many -- but I have heard as well that at some point, they may want to add more fields.
